VAF, also known as Vidar Anker Filion, emerges as a key figure in Oslo’s underground scene, blending experimental electronic music with fine art, performance, and a deep exploration of the occult. With a rich history of over fifty releases, Vidar is known from boundary-pushing bands like Deathcrush, Årabrot, Oilskin and Norwegian Noise Orchestra amongst others, and has toured the world delivering intense, visceral performances. Drawing from his experiences and occult practices, VAF’s music is both a journey and a reflection on the self, inviting listeners to dive into the strange and the unknown.

VAF mixes experimental electronic music with fine art and performances. Themes being worked on are the fool, emptiness, outsiders, and the occult, Thelema in particular. The new album aims to give the listener a journey through the mind. The inner conversation you may have when lying on the floor in a room next to a party, questioning your existence.

VAF / Vafþrúðnir plays droning music for rituals, somewhere between horror, industrial, & Nordic avant-garde. This recording functions as a documentation of two soundtracks that looped during an installation at a Temple of Burot art exhibition in 2024.
