The artist formerly known as Wind-up Gramophone Jockey Danny Midnight has been hiding a joker up his sleeve. Under the banner of The Incomprehensible Danny Midnight Orchestra, he has written and performed a piece of musical drama called Metamorphoses.

The work is inspired by books of antiquity bearing the same title. Through ten biblical chapters, it chronicles the history of a world from its unwarranted beginning to its portended end in the style of, well, a string of bad jokes, a procession of deranged rituals, or could we perhaps call it a newsreel noir? You tell us.

In the originals, the ancient gods were the driving forces. This time around, there are other entities out to play. The creator is a rascally kid. Strange, mindless forces are up to no good. Some disgruntled president plays the part of a powerless commentator. An old washing woman may just turn out to be a fiend of creation, and what exactly are those twinkling stars up to anyway?

In 2024 Otto Egil Sætre of Gymnocal Industries got wind of the work
and proposed to make it known to the world.
Hilmar Bergendahl Larsen stepped in for mixing and production.
The artist joined the producer to deliver the finished product into the hands of Gymnocal industries at the onset of summer in 2025.
