Manual for Dying is the new 10-track album from LA-based ‘snuff pop’ pioneers Patriarchy — a fusion of industrial metal, dark pop, and club music. It delivers high-impact dance tracks, emotionally charged ballads, and driving industrial dirges — all fueled by mastermind Actually Huizenga’s eternal refusal to choose between beauty and brutality, romance and rage, and ultimately… art and life.

The majority of the album was produced by Twin Shadow, and it marks a sonic leap from the band’s earlier lo-fi, analog aesthetic into a more crisp and modern form — with sharp synth production, hard-hitting drums, and hooks that lodge deep in your gills. You can be pulled deep into its themes if you want to — but it also stands as a great record to simply dance and scream to.

Tracks like “Boy on a Leash,” “Pain is Power,” and “Bad Thing” thump with blood and bass, while “Die Like Everyone Else,” “One Last Time,” and “Victim Of God” simmer with desire and grief. The band even ventures into unexpected territory on “Your Place” and “Like Me,” blurring into witch house–inspired industrial rap.
