Since 2012 ZAKAZ have been an ominous presence in the Icelandic black metal scene, releasing a stream of highly acclaimed albums on its own. ZAKAZ does not reconstruct the past. It reactivates it. Not as folklore, but as living current—transmitted through atonal dissonance, ancient language, and the half-buried tongue of the
subconscious.

Merki Sólar is the first ZAKAZ album released by Gymnocal Industries. In Merki Sólar, the ancients do not reappear - they were never truly gone.
