Collection: Glasblume

On a night train between two cities, longing, nerves and easily breakable glass travel. “City in rain” is a collection of poems and thoughts written by two people who long for each other and at the same time try to find their way in their respective cities. With poetic vocals placed in dark cinematic soundscapes, existential thoughts about the psyche, society, longing and passion are conveyed. The album carries elements of strings, harp, old noisy synths, distorted guitars and tough drum beats, toy piano and theremin.

Glasblume are the voices of the young people in the city, fragile and easily broken in the brutal urban landscape. With poetic vocals placed in dark cinematic soundscapes, existential thoughts about the psyche, society, longing and passion are conveyed. Gard Hvammen and Una Aurora Venås began writing music together in 2021, when they lived in their respective cities - Bergen and Oslo. Together with drummer Martin Hjetland (Treverket), guitarist Odd Mikkelsen (Kryptograf) and producer Iver Sandøy (Enslaved), they have developed their own sound where poetic vocals are placed in heavy, noisy, cinematic landscapes - with elements from trip hop, noise rock and alternative pop. The glass flower in the concrete land became a symbol of young people wandering the city.
